What you really pay: the average monthly price

Providers love promotional prices: cheap for the first months, full rate afterwards. Nothing wrong with that, as long as you know what you pay over the whole ride.

Example: a 2-year contract costs 5 euros for the first twelve months and 10 euros for the next twelve. The promotional price is 5 euros, but on average you pay 7.50 euros per month. We show that average next to the promotional price for every offer. The discount counts, it just should not dominate the picture. One-off costs such as connection fees are listed separately.

Which usage suits the bundle: three profiles

The same bundle can be a great deal for one person and wasted money for another. That is why we assess every plan for three kinds of users:

Light user. You mainly use messaging apps, email, and navigation, and you’re often connected to Wi-Fi. For you, price is the most important factor. Why pay for data and speed you hardly ever use?

Average user. You use social media, listen to music, and occasionally watch a video on the go. For you, it’s all about striking a balance between price, data allowance, and a connection you can rely on.

Unlimited user. You stream daily, make a lot of video calls, or use your phone as a hotspot. For you, speed, coverage, and stability matter more than a few euros difference in price. That’s why we clearly label “unlimited with a low maximum speed” for what it is.

After all, a competitive price from a provider that’s hard to reach when something goes wrong isn’t really a good deal.
