What changed around the turn of the month
The July promotions expired and the monitoring picked it up immediately. Youfone replaced its €1.00 promotion with €5.00 for the first twelve months. Hollandsnieuwe launched a new promotion instead: first 6 months €1.00 with a 2-year contract, then €7.00 to €12.00 depending on the bundle. KPN changed pricing on its own site. Delta was once again the most stable pricer in the market: zero changes since measurement began.
Methodology
Welcompare automatically monitors the prices and promotions of all 12 Dutch SIM only providers every day, including contract types (monthly, 1 year, 2 years) and promotional periods. The index shows promotional prices; the comparison also shows the average price over the full term for every offer, putting teaser prices and real costs side by side. The full price history (which provider changed what, and when) is available to journalists on request. The Price Index is published monthly; positions cannot be bought.
